Workshop
Finding User-Centered Solutions
“Even the smartest teams cannot predict market behavior and user behavior.” (Alex Osterwalder)
Overview
Products are bought and used when they solve a user problem. So if we want to sell a product or solve a specific user problem, we need to "put ourselves into the shoes of the user", or customer.
Our user-centered solutions workshop will take your team on a journey from understanding the challenge at hand, to getting to know the user, to validating your idea prototypes.
Before the workshop, we will clarify your business needs and design the workshop in an outcome-oriented way. There are different methods that allow us to work in a user-centered way, such as Design Thinking, Design Sprints and Lean UX. We will choose the right option to best suit your needs.

When is this workshop helpful?
This workshop is right for you if:
- You have a complex problem to solve.
- You want to generate a large variety of progressive ideas.
- You have an idea for a product or service which has not been validated by real users.
- You want to improve the user experience of your product or service.
This workshop is not for you if*:
- You have already decided to implement a specific solution or technology.
- You don't need to re-assess user needs at this point in time.
- You want to evaluate only the technological feasibility of your solution.
*) In this case we might be able to help you as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
What you will get from this workshop
You will leave the workshop with a validated prototype. The prototype will be based on insights generated through hands-on user research. The user research and validated experiment gives you powerful arguments to your stakeholders as for why you have chosen a specific approach.
Moreover, your workshop team will be closely aligned on the challenge and the user you are developing the solution for. By the end of the workshop, everyone will know how to work in a user-oriented way, which is the ideal starting point for any product development initiative.
Last but not least, this workshop gives you great input for the inception phase at the start of product development.
What does the workshop look like?
Regardless of whether we work together in a physical or virtual environment, we ensure the workshop will be both efficient and interactive. We do that by providing a digital or physical workshop space that allows you to visualize ideas and thoughts and that allows you to communicate with one another seamlessly. Miro and SpatialChat are our preferred online digital tools to do that. We use timeboxing to use our time efficiently, as well as energizers and team building activities that will help you stay attentive so that you can keep generating ideas.

How to prepare for the workshop
Before we start designing this workshop, we will:
- Create a mutual understanding of your challenge
- Decide on the ideal number of participants
- Choose a location and timeframe
- Clarify if and how to do user research
- Agree on expectations
- Workshop creation
